Revit FAQs
If you can’t find an answer to your Revit-specific question below, you can email it to cadpack@millerknoll.com.
Do you have individual product families so I can build my own typical?
Yes, the Product Models Revit files contain individual Revit families and associated type catalog text files for selecting the product types with which you want to work. When loading the family components, you can select a few type sizes or all of them.
What Revit versions do the MillerKnoll families support?
The Revit family files have been converted to Revit Architecture 2020. Families can be loaded into Revit 2020 or newer. If you need families for prior versions, email cadpack@millerknoll.com to request them.
How do I turn off text on tiles?
Text placed on tiles was drawn as model text and displays on the Fine Detail Level for 3D and Elevation Views. To turn this text off, edit the Visibility/Graphic Overrides of the desired View. Expand categories for either Casework or Furniture Systems and uncheck visibility for Tile Text.
Do I need to extract all the Revit files from the ZIP file?
Yes. Revit requires the family, type catalog text, and project files to be extracted from the ZIP file before opening in Revit.
Why don’t I see the flipper unit or shelves in plan view when I copy typical groups into a new project?
View Properties needs the View Range edited to increase the Cut Plane Offset. We recommend changing the offset height to be the same as the Top Offset.
How do I use the MillerKnoll material image files?
Material JPGs loaded into a family are delivered with the product category ZIP file to be easily re-associated. Additionally, two image sizes are offered for tiled material JPG files: T20 and T150 for pixel size. Save the material ZIP file to your local drive or network. When in a project file, reload the JPG file for each material.
Do all MillerKnoll Revit families use materials with image files for render appearance?
No, only families that use fabric materials use image files. Most materials display with RGB values.
How can I request a product I need in Revit family format?
Email all requests to cadpack@millerknoll.com.
How do I use the MillerKnoll material library (.adsklib) files?
Download and save the material library files to your computer. You will need to extract the zip file. When in Revit, navigate to the Manage tab and click Materials. In the lower left corner of the Materials Browser dialog, click the drop-down menu next to the folder icon and select Open Existing Library. Browse to one of the MillerKnoll material library files (.adsklib) and click Open. To copy materials from the library to your project, select a material category to expand the selection. Then click the Add (+) icon to the right of the desired material to copy to your project.
